Nor does it need an introduction.

Several hours after police left the scene, several masked gunmen shouting "Allahu Akbar," Arabic for "God is great," began firing randomly at people outside the mosque.

Sounds pretty typical at this point.

the police were too busy looking for real criminals such as litterers and 13 year olds downloading mp3's....

But seriously thats an example of poor police work... Didn't they atleast keep some undercovers posted nearby to keep tabs on them? Where is all this homeland security money going? Definatly not towards homeland security. Sure last night on NBC nightly news Bush boasted about a terrorist attack on Los Angeles that was thwarted (back in 2001), but come on htey are bragging about stopping an attack... it's nothing to brag about, it's their damn job, honestly that story reeked of propaganda. What I'd like to hear is that a Navy ship intercepted a cargo ship containing a nuke and the terrorists blew themselves up in the middle of the sea, w/video to prove it. otherwise the :tinfoil: part of me seriously doubts anything that comes from ANY politician... what really surprised me is when I heard Diane Fienstein a few weeks ago (yes the F'n C**t who wants to take away your guns) call for preemtive military action against Iran...

So let me get this straight.

1. If no one hears about what the government is doing then they are just using tools and legislation to erode our civil liberties.

2. But when the government discloses information regarding thwarted attempts by enemies to the public, they shouldn't because "it's their job" and it's more than likely openly elected officials spreading "propaganda".

How exactly is our government supposed to win with that kind of cynicism excatly? And why would they disclose anything in the first place because they are "damned if they do, damned if they don't" in the public eye?

#2 openly elected my ass... the GAO has proven that both of the presidential elections in which Bush was "elected" were fraudulent. But more importantly when deterring terrorism has become a war used as a tool for political gain thats when it becomes propaganda. OUr government should always be preventing acts of terrorism, why do they need to remind us. the only thing it does is to inspire fear into the "average" citizen, and fear is the number one tool used by tyrannies since the dawn of civilization.

Honestly, why should I trust the government? Give me one good reason. Even if the whole "war" on terrorism is real by the government, why didn't they prevent the terrorists from becoming psycho by having a better foreign policy to start with.

And if you want to get into rights and civil liberties ect.... I can give you personal examples of how our government has failed me personal in upholding my supposed rights......

Umm... I'm going to call bullshit on this one right here. Fraudulent on what grounds? Provide a document from the government stating this or get the fuck out.

You suspend your rights when you are convicted of a felony. Unless I am missing something and if so, please fill me in.

Are you fucking kidding me? Guess what.... the fact that there were vulnerabilities in the voting methods != fraudulent. There is no PROOF that there were any wrong doings. Look at it like this.... there are the possibilities that I will get laid tonight, but the reality is that I will probably go home alone. Same fucking thing as this election crap.

As for the second issue...

When I went into court asking to defend myself it was denied. When I went in for my preliminary hearing my court appointed attorney hadn't even spoke to me yet, so how in the hell could he properly defend me. When I made a motion to the judge to have my public pretender removed from my case he told me to STFU! The conviently I was forced to take psychotropic medications. NExt thing I know when my tolerance to the medications was developed I was on a bus to prison. After being out of prison for 9 months (long after the time limits to file an appeal were exhausted) I finally get ahold of the police reports which state that the alleged victim admitted to attacking me after being verbally provoked. ALso the reports demonstrate that I was not the agressor. I had knife marks on my neck and the victim merely had a black eye. I was defending myself on an attempt against my life, but due to the corruption that exists in the system I was railroaded simply because I didn't have the money to afford a real lawyer who gave a damn. I was never convicted by a jury. Had I not been under the effects of psychotropics prescribed by the jails doctors whom happen to get their paychecks from the same people that the public defender, District Attorney, Sheriffs Deputies, and Judge get their checks from. I most definatly would have forced a jury trial.

Can you please direct the Secretary of State or the President to Terrorria? Perhaps Bin-Ladin Town? Oh wait, you need to see their Ministry of Infidel Affairs at the capital of Al-Qaedastan.

I think you can cut the government a little slack here. Pardon them for not having the terrorism rules manual with a 1-800 customer support line to call when they get stumped. If you think you can fight an enemy with no official army, no country of origin, no centralized leadership, and no interest in communication with anyone better than our U.S. servicemen and servicewomen then by all means feel free to contact the White House.

I hate convicted felons. I have a friend who was a felon, he knows he f-ed up and moved on and is doing well. Another acquaintance whines how she was picked on by the law and blames everything and her life fell apart. If you are a felon, pony-up and be a man. Quit blaming the rest of the world because you are a retard. Yeah I said it.

Hey I don't blame the rest of the world. I was just merely pointing out the falicies that exist in regard to rights... and once again I was never convicted... maybe one day you can sit down and read the damn police reports yourself.

Honestly I don't expect or want anything from the government except for nice smooth roads and freeways w/o pot holes and good quality public schools for my son.

as for the headline bunnyslayer brought up, see just one more reason to never go to church, temple or mosque on any given sunday. Sure, odds are you will not get shot at a church in california but can you really risk it........ when there is also a football game on that sunday you want to watch

Oui. Basically "the man" shouldn't be so hard on her because she did 2 months for stealing 100k since she gave it back. She should be able to work in finance again because she "feels bad".
It's pretty hard for me to get annoyed at a friend, but she has managed to do that and more. Doesn't get the whole "responsible for one's actions" thing.

oh man - that sux.

Never been a fan of the whole "poor me" syndrome. Like you said - if you fuck up, accept responsibility, and deal with the consequences. It doesn't matter if you're "sorry" or not. If you call the tune, you gotta pay the piper.*
