She's an idiot anyway. Not that I agree with his course of action, but I mean come on - of all the days she wants to fuck w/ him, why pick the state of the union address?

I was responding to Ash's post. He is blaming bush for that bitch getting arrested when in fact it had NOTHING to do with him.

Have to agree with Poncho on this, and from what they said she was trying to unvail a banner.
But who really gives a shit about her anyway. And she wasnt arrested, just detained and released after it was over.

She was told that demonstrating in the building was illegal.
She obviously knew it if she was covering it up on her way in.
She should be arrested if she broke the law just like anyone else should be.
So what's the problem?

Umm last time I checked there is a little thing in the constitution called the first ammendment that gives a person the right to free speech. I think this would be an example of exercising this right.

Already tired of her BS... Ok her son died, that sucks for her and she did her little 15min of fame and protest..
now she is giving talks in other countries and being she is on like min 4 and counting down she is talking of setting up camp against bush again..
sigh.. This sounds heartless but NOTHING happened to her on a personal level. She has NO story to tell about this or that or anything else.. Now if maybe it was her son back from the war with no legs and telling HIS story, fine..
yeah yeah I know, "Oh but no one can talk for him, he is dead"..
that's bs.. It's over, she had her 15min and world stage.. Move on being at some point you become this damn side show that start to take away from your message in the first place.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still pretty anti this whole BS crappy war on terror that in no way can be won but she is already starting to look like one of the many peace clowns you see running around.. Almost as bad as pot heads who want to "make it legal".. Ya know the ones, the guy in a suit with a hair cut and good job going "I think it would be best if they....."..
Oh wait, that's right, they NEVER look like that!! It's always a dirty tshirt and "Dude, just dude".. THAT is clown shoes.. Same as this lady running around at the state of the union in anything that is disrespectful of the event and president. Hate the person if you want, but respect the office of president..

You're absolutely correct, and if she or anyone else finds that law unfair they try to get it changed. Not just break it when they feel like.
Last I checked the 2nd ammendment allows me to have a natural AK-47. A law was passed and that just isn't the case anymore is it? Yet maybe I'll take a stroll into the capital with one just cause I don't think it should be a law.
Hmmm maybe I'll go on national tv stating that I'm going to kill the President. I'm exercising my 1st ammendment aren't I?

she broke the law plain and simple. I am a big supporter of the First amendment but we can not have people protesting within the Capital we get little enough done as it is without all the disturbance.
She has aligned herself with whackos I would have more sympathy for her if I felt it was more sincere. She stood next to the Venezuela Socialist President for crying out loud that alone was enough to make me hurl.
Here is a quote from our good friend.
"Enough of imperialist aggression. We must tell the world, down with the U.S. empire," Chavez said hugging Sheehan and the widow of Puerto Rican independence activist Filiberto Ojeda Rios, who was killed in a gunfight with police last year.
Do not get me wrong I am not a Bush fanboi but I am a fan of Capitalism and the American way. Sheehan has burned up her 15 minutes .

freedom of speech is only recognised if you are in a large group and newsworthy
or have paid for the air time
otherwise your freedom of speech is stealing message time from the networks where they could be selling you nikes or something else you must have to survive
I mean, it's the state of the union.. do you have any idea how many banks and investment firms are waiting in the wings for a commercial break?! you can't go and hold that shit up with a sign stating an opinion, who do you think you are?!
and politicians being distracted by opinions.. oh dear lord, next thing you know they might form a true opinion and not a PR move in their damned brains.. please. If a sports "star" can get jeered because he wouldn't make the play because the crowd was "too loud" a politician can get shit upon because an opinion upset them.

Yes lets fill congress with jeering crowds of freaks with tin foil hats and bums with hands outstretched.
Cindy knew she was going to be arrested that was her motive and she got her word out again and here we are talking about it.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Peace activist Cindy Sheehan was arrested Tuesday in the House gallery after refusing to cover up a T-shirt bearing an anti-war slogan before President Bush's State of the Union address.
According to a blog post on Michael Moore's Web site attributed to Sheehan, the T-shirt said, "2,245 Dead. How many more?" -- a reference to the number of U.S. troops killed in Iraq.
---
so thats what the tshirt said
now for other details ... how am i the coward???
now again how should she be arrested for publically displaying it? if she hid it then revealed it in session then i totally understand. the worst that should have happened was refusal to let her in. because she displayed it before hand and didnt hide it thats ok then for her to be arested? thats the part that im calling cowardice.

one is just not allowed to demonstrate with in the capital building it's nothing more then that....
not much different then being sent home from school for wearing a beer tshirt in highschool.. The fact people are making a big deal out it pretty much shows why they have these sort of rules in the in the first place..
It's not the correct place to have a monkey like side show of everyone showing up with t-shirts pro or con for any given issue as a sneaky form of protesting.. Let her slide on this one, next it some lamer with a baby fetus on his shirt, then it's someone with a handgun control shirt, then a naked poncho covered only in motor oil and a "Don't drill Alaska and I'll let you drill me" post-it note on his ass..
so I have no problem with a zero tolerance policy on this issue.
as for Bush and her, he is the president of the most powerful nation in the world, he does not have to answer/debate/talk to one little nobody lady on any issue, period. I don't like him at all and I think he is the worst pres I've ever seen but I still understand the concept of "life rank" and to say he is pretty high is a gross understatement .

someone correct me if I am wrong but another lady was ejected for weaing a "I support the Troops" shirt for the very same reason as Cindy. It was some Senator or Representative wife.
This really is a non-issue but it seems stuff like this captures the media which sucks in everyone else.
