Watching the tube the other night I see the commercial for one of the dept stores. Instead of singing I wish you a merry christmas. They say we wish you a merry holiday or something like that. Has it become bougus to use christ when talking about this time of year. Is it a crime to write christmas or do I have to put the x in front of mas. Who do they think they are offending when someone uses christ when talking about christmas! Is'nt that what this (excuse me) holiday is all about?Who decided it was wrong? The acl? abc?
Micheal Moore? Who? Someone fill me in please

I'm with you Hezi - I am not a practicing christian - nor am I religious - but changing the name of the Christmas season to the Holiday season seems stupid to me. Ahh well, change is inevitable I guess.

I hate the holiday time of the year, mostly for the lame over marketing of everything about it starting in Oct.. As if you need a 3month run up till the end of Dex..

So ANYTHING that drives a spike into the heart of Christmas is fine with me..

the only good thing about xmas is my idea of dressing up as santa and beating kids up in a mall or at the least just being horrible to them.

Mental scar that would last a lifetime.. I can almost taste the bitter tears of their nightmares for the next 3 weeks..

My all time fav xmas ep is still that one with Married with Children when santa sky dives and face plants on the Bundy's roof..

Al Bundy as santa "Okay, Santa will leave you a pony under your tree. But if it isn't there in the morning, that means your mommy chased it away........ and killed it."

I agree about the marketing it makes me sick but its a day when, if you believe, that you celebrate the birth of christ.! That is what it is about. I dont care who else celebrates it and I'm not going to chastise anyone who doesn't . I just wish those trying to be politically correct would let it be!!

And that's why you're not in marketing. Saddly enough, that's the driver behind the "all enclusinve" "holiday season"

Didn't South Park debate this in the pilot episode?

"Christmas is for giving!" - Santa

"Christmas is for celebrating my birth!" - Jesus

(Enter cheesy kung fu sounds)

Kinda like how I remember a thing that used to be called “easter break” Then somewhere along the line someone decided that that was bad, and chanced it to “spring break”, but that still wasn’t good enough, and they changed it so that it is at least a week apart from easter. The nice little side effect of that is that it seems like kids that don’t go to the same school almost never get the same week off. When it was based around easter, everyone pretty much had the same week off. It pretty much made it impossible to coordinate a large family gathering without having some kids miss large amounts of school. And this is better how?

GG fucktards, stop ruining my holidays with your angsty political correctness bullshit. Christmas is about gifts, family, and getting drunk off eggnog.
