there is some sort of poll that got released today - 18% of Americans identify themselves as liberal and 30% identify themselves as conservative.
yet, when asked questions about how they feel on certain issues - the data showed that 60% of the respondents actually were liberal in their views.
it shows alot about wording - you may in fact be liberal AND NOT KNOW IT!
hehe, screams and nightmares! this infor presented just in time for Halloween! :D

Does that poll ask what is more important to people, the republican ideals or the liberal ones? Hell, even I tend to swing a bit to the left on some issues, but the ones that are most important to me and the country IMO, are the ones I vote for. come election day I could give a shit if a woman has the "right" to kill her child, or if gay people can get married..... what is most important to my country, again IMO, is security and financial. those are the issues that I vote on, not the "liberal" ones that I agree with.

actually poncho good question. i would concur that people do tend to weigh their opinions or stands on issues more on a few focused ones.

Polls are utterly worthless. Remember how Gore had everything wrapped up according to the exit polls? How about how Kerry was running away with the election, according to those exit polls?
