Kinda makes me wish I had bought an flg shirt. :(

And to get tables near each other, we need to be there the same time. So doors open at 8. Last time, there was only 150 byoc and it was pretty crazy trying to get in. By crazy I mean it took a bit of time and a long line. Now it's 300? byoc so yeah...

Burden, Iano, xenophile, me will try to be there at 8 am.

And for you Sacramento-ers you can't get in for BYOC after 9:30...so you may have to leave way early.

Or actually, if you wanted a place to crash, you could crash here in Santa Rosa and then all caravan down that morning.

06-12-2005, 09:16 PM
ill have to get that anyone got a link?

blue_dirt
06-12-2005, 09:35 PM
Well, for the lan, they say they will be playing Carball version 2.50, which you can get here (http://download.filefront.com/3861232;4a007230e653452445c71830ce9e8363f8981f32c8 caa4c6dac66c05518af802b6512f2c3c9606b0)

But since then, all servers are operating under version 2.52 which you can get here (http://www.carball.net/downloads/pafiledb.php?action=download&id=125)

So you will just copy over the 4 loose files into your system folder in yout UT2K4 folder. Then just copy and paste the CarBall Folder into your UT2K4 Directory.

There's on average 1 to 3 servers playing carball.

If my links break, you can get the files from the one original site CarBall.net (http://www.carball.net)

EDIT: You will have to go into controls, and set keys mainly for 'backflip' and 'headlights'. You'll be using backflip alot, so I just set mine as middle mouse. Headlights aren't really needed but meh, they're there. My headlights key is 'Q'. Horn isn't really needed, but you can spam it and there are 12 horn sounds to choose from. Default horn is ';'.

See you in there.

50 more seats are open! Pay up now!!

With the overwhelming demand for seats at GeForce LAN 2.0 in San Francisco, NVIDIA has found a way to fit in an additional 50 gamers into the BYOC!!

Your friends, along with you, now have the chance to see the launch of NVIDIA’s next generation GPU, participate in NVIDIA’s 300 Person BYOC LAN Party, participate in a raffle for loads of prizes from NVIDIA and its partners, and get a FREE retail copy of Battle Field 2!

If they are 18 or older and missed registering for the BYOC, get your friends back to the GeForce LAN website IMMEDIATELY to register for the BYOC at GeForce LAN!!

Registration for these LAST 50 seats will end Friday at 3PM – and if they go as fast as the previous 50 seats did, these seats will be gone well before then!

We hope to see you and your friends there!

What time is everyone planning to get there? Last time we got there about 8 or so and it took a good hour or so to check in. I want tot ry to get there around 7:30 to beat traffic on 101 (coming from Santa Rosa) Also who ever gets there early should try and save spots for people in line so we can all try to sit next to each other.

Not sure on what time we are leaving (going with Blue_dirt, Xeno and Iano). We are coming from Santa Rosa. About 60 miles north of San Francisco. My best guess on what time we should leave would be around 6:30-6:45, to get there before 8.

You wont get there before 8:00 on a commute day normally, as from Novato to SF it usually takes 1-1.5 hours just for that route, as it backs up to hell from Novato to San Rafael (45min just for 8 miles). If I were you, I'd look at 6:00-6:15 to be safer.

Two words - Diamond lane

FAngel
06-16-2005, 05:21 PM
only bad thing is that the diamond lane dosent start untill the end of Novato, as it's a two lane highway from Santa rosa to novato, so that can still get backed up.
In the diamond lane for a car it still takes 30 minutes to go the 8 miles from Novato to San Rafael, as the lane ends in the middle of san rafael, and the freeway drops a lane, so everything gets conjested at the hill before the civic center (I drive this daily on the bike and in the car).

Alright all FLG'ers who are going. Whoever get's there first and standing in line for registration. Hold spots for all of us so we can go in as a large group and get good seats together. Tell the guys around you in line what you are doing so they don't get all pissed.

Dear GeForce LAN BYOC member:

Thanks for registering for GeForce LAN 2.0!

Please review this email entirely to ensure that you have a great time
at the
LAN on Tuesday.

================================================== =======================
FAQ:
http://www.pdxlan.com/geforcelan/content.php?content.4

Registration:
Registration for the BYOC begins at 8:00 AM sharp, and lasts until
10:00 AM.
If you are registered online and do not show up to the venue by 10:00
AM, you
will lose your spot – so don’t be late!!

When you register, all you need is your photo ID – we will pre-register
people,
which means you can register at the event, get your badge, and go back
to your
car to get your PC and supplies – you don’t have to wait in line with
your PC!

Location:
The location of the LAN is the “Fort Mason Festival Pavilion” in San
Francisco,
CA. To find the best directions, please use the links below:

Driving Directions:
http://www.fortmason.org/directions/index.shtml

Map of Fort Mason (Enter at corner of Buchanan St. and Marina Blvd.):
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=fort+mason,+san+francisco.+ca&ll=37.806266,-
122.429527&spn=0.006307,0.010418&hl=en

Arial Map of Fort Mason (There are 3 piers – the Festival Pavilion is
the
rightmost of the three):
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=fort+mason,+san+francisco.+ca&ll=37.806266,-
122.429527&spn=0.006307,0.010418&hl=en

When you arrive, be sure to look for the “Festival Pavilion” – there
are two
very similar buildings on the waterfront: “Herbst Pavilion” and the
“Festival
Pavilion.” The LAN will be held at the Festival Pavilion, located on
Pier
Three, on the Northeastern corner of the complex – it will be hard to
miss – be
sure to look out for the large NVIDIA/INTEL branded RV in front, where
you can
register.

Parking:
Parking at the venue will be plentiful and free! Please arrive at the
venue
(look out for the NVIDIA/INTEL RV), and a staffer will help you with
parking
information.

What to Bring:

- A form of identification with picture and age
- The attached Legal Release of likeness form, SIGNED (this is just so
we can
take cool photos and video at the event – you need it signed to get in)

I couldn't get the map links in the email to work. Looks to me, from what I read that this is where we're going. Aerial shot (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=fort+mason+festival+pavilion,+san+francisco .+ca&ll=37.806605,-122.429924&spn=0.010021,0.014098&t=k&hl=en)

Anyone who's familiar with that area, are there any streets that you want to stay away from due to Rush Hour?

You can add Halion, Ruski, and Kiwichiwi on there from the Chico crew. We're sleeping over in SF now, should be heading over around 7:30ish. If anybody wants to coordinate getting spots near eachother call David's (Cyan's) cell: 530-864-3933. If not we'll just look for FLG shirts I guess. Hopefully we can secure an FLG corner for teh pwnage. Cya'll tomorrow.

Since we work, here's what we get:

Cash-ola, which begets...

... a car and not needing to depend on rides

... a place of our own, so we don't have to ask for permission from our mommy and daddy (or stepmom, or stepdad, or legal guardian, or whatever)

A car and pad begets...

... hanging out at places where you can pick up on a girl (or guy, whatever your taste may be) and then take that person home without worrying about a curfew or mom/dad/etc waking up. No "shh - we need to tiptoe so we don't wake up my mom/dad/etc."

... Not being made fun of or being left behind because you lack any of the above.
