More Gaming Action

Hey Everyone,
Now...I saw the abuse that you gave CAL-Lan for his lan parties, and hopefully mine won't be as bad, but its all good anyway.

Just wanted to let the gamers know that I have started another LAN group here in Sacramento. I can't, and won't promise high end computers as tourny prizes, or 250 person events. Of course there will be the sponsor swag, and plenty of gaming, and tournaments. And of course, a lot of shit talking. For those of you who can't get enough gaming in between lans here at FLG or anywhere else, atleast check out the site. My goal is to hopefully host LAN parties that do not conflict with your parties, nor anyone elses. Hell, id like to come to a FLG event someday. Its better for everyone if we can get events on different weekends, so we can spread out the gaming action.

So if your interested, check us out. Nothing big yet, just under 40 members and growing hopefully. And if your not interested, let the flaming begin!

Welcome dude. Great post. You'll more than likely get some FLG'rs to this event. Especially if you:

1. Alllow Shit talking
2. Allowed responsible drinking ( BYOB & 21-over)
3. Don't charge an arm and a leg

Welcome to the fun we call FLG and I must say your first post was MUCH better then the recent one we had so much fun with. Rule 1 with this group is if we don't think it's fun...we won't do it. AND...we will let you know if we don't think it's fun. ;)

We are always looking to build ties with other gaming groups so please hang around. Things go so much better when everyone get's along.

Whew! Glad this went over better lol.

Im not in it to make any money, sometimes it just takes someone to organize the whole thing and people will show up. The only reason there will be an admission fee is to help cover the cost of the venue, but I'll tell you, if I were rich, gaming would be free. Of course we allow shit talking, there won't be any church preaching at any of our events, hell im sure If i even step into a church, it will catch on fire and I'll die instantly.

But of course, more gamers is always better, and seeing that you guys seem to be the only other really active gaming community, I thought I would work with some of you.

My only problem is I am having a hard time finding a venue :( Right now my current venue, doesn't have any openings until Mid June, and they want 350$ a day for it. If you have any suggestions, maybe an old venue or something that would be great!

Lookin forward to some hardcore gaming action with everyone :)

that's the "going rate" bro. If you can charge enough to cover costs and food and swag, it works out well.

You can try the Lions Lodge, but there about the same price.

How about some of the other lodges " Elks Lodge, etc...."

Thats true, I've come to notice the prices of the venues are about that. At this point Im hoping to find a place where it will be before mid june. But if not, count on the first event from us the weekend of the 17th.

I still might have the power maps to the Knight of Cloumbus Hall. I don't know if I'd wish that place on anybody puting on a show. The crazy old coot will come by and visit ya and leave hour long phone messages on your phone.

lol, I was told they can hold roughly 50 people power wise. If you still have the power layout and wouldnt mind sharing, I would greatly appreciate it.

The Power was sh**ty if you were trying to put on a 150 man LAn or something. If not it was fine. But if you didn't put on a 150 man LAN, not only would this prove you are not a high-class LAN, but you'd have to charge 100 bucks per person. It was 960 bucks or something like that for the hall we kept using. Of course those days you also had to paqy for a 1/2 slice pizza at 5.00, snacky chip that wasn't inventoried for 2.50, and bottled air was 3.00. At least it was all inventoried and logged so it was safe from leet hakorz :tinfoil:

That place could hold more than 50. But 50 is always an easy no hassel trouble-free number. I don't have that :secret: anymore, I think I sold it to moddy. But it is one of those I think i could do from memory since we did it so many times.

Ok Here goes. I think I remember most of the outlet numbers but I didn't include those just in case I was wrong. the pink ones are the ones we used to plug into for each circuit. I don't remember if the one in the dividing wall were different circuits (I think they may have been both 9). And the one by the front door was mislabelled if I remember. it was the same as some other one which caused a problem so I wouldn't use it. other than that this is a rough power sketch. Not my best work.

Thanks for the info everyone. Yea they quoted me 700 for 2 days ( friday/saturday ) Still not sure what im gonna do....but it looks like it will be June, the 3rd weekend in June ( 17th I think ).

lol, and your right, im not looking to host high end lans, where I can throw out a new car and 47 hookers as a prize ( or a computer, =P ) and wouldnt charge more than 20$ for the two nights.

* anyone else get the email about cal-lan changning venues as price dropping?
