To have HDTV, especially for free, cannot be put in to words other than what Fishmonger said

I don't watch SD anymore, at all, ever... unless it's the Cartoon Network, I make an exception for that.
Get it and you will understand. even if it's Over the Air ( OTA) and to your PC like Lamb Does.
It's just amazing. I watched Alias last night.
WOW

I just got a HDTV wonder and I am having some problems getting that many channels. All I am using is the antenna that came with it. I was looking for a indoor antenna that I could install in the attic in my house. What is everyone else using to get receiption for there HDTV.

I installed a DB2 Antenna (http://www.hdtvantennas.net/index.htm) in the rafters of a friend's garage, and it works beautifully.
It's multi-directional, so all we did was point it in the general direction of where
the most signals come from (we're in Galt, so most everything is north). Even
Stockton and Modesto channels come in good without repositioning the antenna.
I'm buying the same antenna for my HDTV.

that cards comes with more or less the same antenna that I have..
ya have to AIM that one with in few degrees of the towers you need to hit to get HDTv.. in other words, buy a compass and hit the http://www.antennaweb.org/ sit to get the degree you need and line it up..
also try moving it all over the place and try to get a line of site going.. for example for my area the cpu desk = 0 signal.. book case - 0 signal.. shelf next to cpu = everything coming in ok IF it's at 58 degreess.... 70% at 58 degrees, move it to say 60 degrees I get nothing.. the antenna is that directional.
not a big deal really being all the HD is rolling off the same towers all near year other in the same area of town.

Kick:
I am using a Channel Master 4228. I have it mounted on my roof next to my Dish. It works so fucking amazing I can't believe it. I'm up in Auburn and I get every single channel avalible on Antenna Web at 100% PEAK!
i was watching "Leno" for the first time last night and Arnold Swartz was on. It blew me away how clear this shit is for over the air. I just can't fucking believe it.
All for FREE. I mean, it is so easy to do. I am blown away.

yeah it's funny how we have all been conditioned that tv = cable/sat/pay only..
Of course to some degree that is true but also strange to more or less step back to the house antenna to then run forward with HD.. Even the local SD rez stuff off the local stations looks soooo much better off the bandwidth of the HD digital feed.. Way better then even digital sat stuff..
Just sucks everyone can't hop on the HDtv train for a range of reason. Mostly due to location/reception issues..
Just wait mike, soon you are going to be watching total POS programs being they are in HD.. That will wear off of course but at first "Oh look it's in HD, lets watch that.. Wow this shows sucks, sep for being in HD"
as I mentioned before you can hit http://www.titantv.comn and make your own tvguide page.. Listing local OTA, and cable, and sat ect ect.. shows whats in HD..

I go to Titan everyday. I think vandelous or qweryy reccomeneded that site to me.
Also, already fell for the POS program and the " WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW, look how clear"
At Xmas I was watching this chick talk and demonstrate how to decorate a Xmas tree.
30 minutes i watched it. Then I realized " WTF am I watching."
