Deadlamb you'll get a kick outta this-

I still haven't figured out where I'm supposed to vote. :( and I missed the deadline to absentee. *sigh*

anyone know if your voting place goes off your residence or mailing address with DMV? my residence is galt but everything else in Sac. Also, is your work required to give you time off to vote? Cause I work 10:30 - 7 and don't think I can get to and from Galt in time.

I lose at voting.

and no, this isn't political, just about voting.

Well you see little one. With an Absentee Ballot you can vote from the comfort of your own home and mail it in. Instead of standing in line like cattle between Big Bertha and that guy from Deliverance.

It should be based off what county you're registered in. Galt would be Sacramento county so you'd go to a booth in Sacramento.

I believe the voting location goes by the address that you used when you originally registered to vote. At least in NJ, I always had to vote at the polling place near my parents house because that's the address that I originally registered with. It wasn't until I *re-registered* with the state of New Jersey that I was able to change my polling place.

EDIT: Crap, by the time I typed up my reply, there are a million above it. I'm too slow... :(

Did Prop 71 make it to the ballot?

yeah the stem-cell research bond issue.. torn on that one.. I 100% suport stem-cell research, in fact if it could cure big sickness I would not care if they went WAY past that and made a matrix like baby clone farm..

errrrrrrr but the bond act is 3 billion and when it start to come due we might have nothing to show for the research and as I said before, I hate bond issues being it's NOT free money as they always make it sound like it is.. weeeeeeeeee it's a bond, that not money, that not debt til years from now...

ah still, in this case, being I can't belive some are so closed minded to the idea of stem-cell research in the first place odds are I throw support to that and just bitch about the money later..

From what I understand, it's self-financing for 5 years. They're expecting that in those 5 years, this research will help lower the cost of health care in CA. It's assumed that even a 1 percent savings in CA health care costs will pay for Prop 71. But that's all theory in a perfect world...

We have stem cell research in Jersey but it's coming out of taxpayer dollars - which I don't mind. I'd prefer my tax dollar going to this research instead of keeping crack whores in the YWCA. They're already using stem cells on NJ cancer patients and getting good results.

More than likely if it passes the research will get no where and then people will have something else to complain about.

I'm kinda torn on this one as well.
I think it's a good idea, but I don't know about the cost of it.

It will go plenty of places.....More of the advanced stem-cell research is only good for cloning.......make mindless drones that you harvest organs from.

Too bad GM no more buying kiddy organs on the Russian Black Market for you.

Someone create a Prop 71 forum and move these last comments into it.

I'll post there once it happens. :)
