Fry's (http://www.netaffilia.com/ad/electronics/frys/i/2004/09/03/5611.html) has the Seagate drives available either online (Outpost.com) or in-store for $120-$60 rebate = $60.
Not a bad deal, IMHO....particularly since Seagate just jacked up the warranties on all their drives to 5 years!

I was passing by Frys on my way to Elk Grove and picked up two of these dudes. I'll probably sell one or both to customers wanting upgrades to their systems. They'll get a decent deal (discounted from sticker), I'll get some labor and some markup and the rebate(s).
They also had a bunch of Wireless-G stuff on sale. Brand name is spelled "Buffalo" but I'm sure it's pronounced "cheap crap". $9 for PCI, PCMCIA, and USB devices, $19 for router, and $9 for 6db external antenna. Gonna play with it and see if it's any good.
Thanks for the tip!

Just buy it online at outpost.com. You'll (maybe) pay a little shipping, but it saves you the gas to drive to <closest location>.

You gotta watch seagate drives from what I hear, though. They just recently upped the warranty to 5 years, so you have to check your drive to make sure it's not 1 year. I might have to run to fry's now....
