They shouldn't have too much of a problem with that. I wasn't aware of the dramallama going on behind the scenes, but I always had fun at the old lantros. I was never big on paying for pizza with a 500% markup, but it wasn't a big deal. And I know there's a lot of people out there who still don't know the story, and just know that their lan party disappeared for a while. Some of them won't be able to tell nu-Lantro from Lantro Classic in a blindfolded taste test, that is unless they were friends with the Lanlords.

I know the story. And I went to the old Lantro events. Didnt know the people that ran it till now.

Had a pretty shitty time each time......And now when I can compair it to FLG. It would be like some horrible punishment.

but many guys in FLG assisted in LAntro. Fact, FLG was just a group of friends that did house lans and bar-b-ques. So, saying Lantro was shitty is sorta saying the FLG guys were shitty too.

I don't know the whole story, only parts, but it's really none of my business. Fact is I came to FLG when LAntro went down and the reason I keep going to FLG is the people and how much fun they are. If the FLG guys went to Lantro, I'd go too cause I know it'd be fun. Since they don't go, I see no need or reason for me to go, as I don't know anyone that goes.

LANs are as much social as they are anything else, and if even 1 aspect is missing then why bother? So I sit back and wait for FLG because it has all the good aspects and I don't feel like lugging my 200 pound monitor for a lan that is missing people that make me crack up at least twice a day. :heart:

Well you have to take into account that only the cool guys that helped run lantro formed FLG. There were others that didn't do such a good job. I have been to many a Lantro and was a Lanlord for a while. I went to one of the lantros at the location near the Masonic Temple and it sucked so much ass. There were a bunch of yuppie puppies who thought they knew everything there and ther just wasn't the group feel that were at the original Lantros. I felt so out of place and icky. YES I SAID ICKY. :P The Gamer Nation was not alive and well at that event let me tell you. Oh wait I just did.

Not at all......Because like Nightwolf mentioned others were involved that pretty much ruined it.

But 100% of the Lantro's I went too pretty much were horrible. Thats why I only went to a few and decided it wasent worth the effort to go.

I have three times I remember having the slightest ammount of fun at Lantro.

1) 1 bullet left in a Mac 10 in CS and I pulled a lucky head shot to win a match that went on far to long.

2) Playing Kill the King at the Cal Expo monster lan. And it was pretty much just those at our table....RMJ, Sitting Duck, Anasazi, some guy and myself...and like 3 or 4 that would come and go.

3) Seeing an old friend Riffy from High School that drove his SHO up for a LAN.

Other than that it was all pretty crappy.

I never thought lantrocity sucked until close to near the end. Some of my best lan expierences where at lantrocity. I remember my second lantro lan was when I meant Mykul and his son for the first time. I think he was still in diapers and I am not talking about mikes son j/k. That was also the first lan that we played revolt. I remember being there till about 3:00am that night playing that crappy game.
One thing to note, I forgot that lantrocity was not lantrocity then, it was called sacramento lanfest
