Hey come on now, there is a range of films out there and I don't expect an action film to hold up the acting in say something like House of Sand and Fog (very good film by the way) and just about ANY film is still better then 95% of the crap on TV..

Oh and AVP looks cool, in an action flick way. But I doubt it will hold a flame to the originals of both (now, Predator 2 it just might surpass).

well one could say all the alien films have slowly gone that way over the years.. First one was dark and slow, 2nd was more action, 3rd was filmed by a music video guy with the speed cuts and so on (and is better then most give it credit for, at least the directors cut) and then the 4th one was pure comic book..

sooo here we are at the 5th film and 3rd predator film. Nothing sneaky left about them, so they have to break out the big huge action stuff... As I said, I still think it will be a good dumb action films.. I mean not every film is LOR ya know :) There is a place for dumb B grade early 90's throw back action films.. Sep now they spend $$$$$$$$$ on making them...

That is the point. Aliens movies sucked after 2. 2nd Predator movie sucked ass. I am almost 30 now and retarded action flicks don't entertain me anymor unless there is a plot... my guess AVP has no plot. Looks cheap, caters to kiddies.. .boy can't wait to see that.
I guess that is the problem with gorwing up watching the old 50's movies, and Dr. Who and the like. They had bad special effects but plots. I am not impressed with some geek making CGI and crap and wire fighting and calling it a movie.

i have seen all the directors comments and teasers and all i can say is that the director is a piece of shit tool. if you watch him, he says "yea, i'm a big fan of the aliens movie, so when they asked me to direct i was like 'OMG WTF c00l h4xors w00t'"

Ths plot is a bunch of scientists find some old ruins or some shit like that, and they just so happen to have some marines or something with them, and, *GASP* they discover some aliens shit. Another fucking pyramids reference. oohh, the preditors built the pyramids. STFU you little bitch. it should have ended with stargate. and the preditors come down every 1000 years to prove their manhood? WTF man, as if you couldn't come up with something better then that? thats something Indians do. the preditors just kill the shit outa everything.
i just cant stand it. the first time i saw the teaser i literally had an aneurysm. i was laying passed out on the floor, and all i could think of was "WTF!!!!!^&^!^!"
its worse then the fucking matrix. some guy saying "you thought that was cool, well wait for the next one, it will be even better" and by better, he means something an elephant ate, then shit out onto his face.

and if i wanted to watch a good action movie that doesnt make any sense, then i'll just watch Commando. at least when they made that movie they weren't thining "this would be cool" they were thinking "lets make Arnold kill as many people as possible". which he did. killing over 100 people with the same gun, in the same scene, is quite a feat.

You know I've been noticing that in myself. In the last couple of years I no longer like ANY action/scfi movie compared to when I was 15.
Now a days I need a good plot otherwise I am just going to be annoyed.

Bad scenario CGI stuff dies on the screen even if you can hardly tell that it's CGI.
For instance, I was watching Matrix Revolutions for the 3rd time and I hate the meelee fights. They were SO RETARDED even though they could fly, break walls etc. The fight itself was so poorly coordinated that I'd rather skip it.

What a load of shit!! I guess the aliens and predators sit around and play pattycake over tea or at least FOX has edited the film down so much they might as well be doing that..

Sure, odds are they will come out the directors cut DVD version but this just sucks.. Most times I don't care but these two franchise are based around chest popping little aliens and full skinless bodies hanging in some tree.. If it was two new aliens like breeds like say "Mars Vs Saturn: they came to earth to settle a score" then heck make the story whatever you want, not like we would know what we are missing..

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrr sep in this case you have 6 films ALL rated R and not just that but two of the all time classic films about space aliens kicking ass... Nothing like NOT even being able to show THE end all be all of Alien births in the chest pop... BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
