Alright here is my problem. I am behind a firewall that is on my linksys router. I need to know what my proxy settings are so that I can put the settings into Yahoo messenger so that I can transfer files to people. If anyone knows please let me know. Thanx

Couple of things to check on your system. Do you have any personal Firewall sofware running, if you do then it's most likely blocking the request for file transer. Also check the Firmware for the Linksys and make sure you are current. Linksys has released a number of updates that have fixed file transfers using messenger clients behind their NAT based devices.
Yahoo uses Port 80 for the file transfer per their documentation. You have 2 options that all depend on how much you like messing around with network settings. First would be to put your machine into the DMZ of router when you want to do a file transfer. Then take it out of the DMZ when you are done. Or you could map port 80 to your machines IP. The hard part will be is only THAT ip will be able to do the file transfers. If you use DHCP from the router then you are going to need to set your machine with a fixed IP. Personally I would NOT map port 80 to your machine if you don't have to.
The OTHER idea would be to use Trillian which supports all the different major messenger clients. In my experience the file transfer functions in it work the best through firewalls and NAT based routers. Oh...and basic triallian client is free!
