I read the FAQ (http://www.fusionlangaming.com/staticpages/index.php?page=20030216214257788).. and I have a few questions..

All the necessary cables for your machine
Does this include a Cat5 cable?

I didn’t see anything about allotted plug ins. I am assuming it's two right? I don’t see why I need three, I just thought i'd ask since im at work.. bored as hell.

If you are 21 or over, alcohol is allowed (unless otherwise noted.)
From what i've gathered this events at a new location.. will alcohol be permitted? Vodka and O.J. makes the killing more fun.
:)
Is there internet access available?
Depending on our location, internet access may or may not be available. Please check the details of the specific event you wish to attend.
Will there be any access to the net?

Last question, chairs.. do we bring our own?

I am done dragging this out. I guess i'll go attempt to find some work to do now. :cheeze:

Naw, we got the CAT5 covered. You are welcome to bring your own "lucky cable" if you want :)

Normally it's 2 plugs, but if you have special needs for a cordless mouse or whatever, just let us know - we are pretty flexible.

Over 21? FUCK YEAH there's gonna be alcohol permitted - a LAN just isnt' a LAN w/o some kind pimp juice :)
Under 21? Got Milk?

Will there be any access to the net?

Not at this event.

Last question, chairs.. do we bring our own?

If you have a comfortable chair, then feel free to bring it. If you'd rather not hastle with it, there will be hard metal chairs there for you to use.

Couldn't hurt.....I've seen Bullfrog's cable-making skillz, and well... MOST of the supplied cables work
I didn’t see anything about allotted plug ins. I am assuming it's two right? I don’t see why I need three, I just thought i'd ask since im at work.. bored as hell. PC and Monitor should be all that needs to be powered.

:) Leave your keys at the door. I suggest wearing underwear, as Mod and Area have a tendancy to take somewhat "suggestive" pics when the gamers pass out from too much drink.
Is there internet access available?
Depending on our location, internet access may or may not be available. Please check the details of the specific event you wish to attend.
Will there be any access to the net? Depends on the location. If it's the house-LAN, then yes. If it's the Lodge-LAN, then no.

Last question, chairs.. do we bring our own? If you have something comfortable, that'll fit into your preferred mode of transportation, then bring it. If not, I'm sure a hemorroid-stimulating folding steel chair will be provided.

PS....My wife actually does read the forums every once in awhile. She caught me pretty good a couple a months ago. She started talking to me about something Mod had posted. It took me a couple of seconds to figure out how in the hell she heard about it....then I went into 'OH SHIT' mode. See what I get for setting up my wife up with a laptop, wireless connection and high-speed internet!

I'd recommend bringing an Ice Chest. Works perfectly. :)

We will have at least 2 big coolers for folks to put stuff in to keep cold. So if you don't have one....no worries, we got you covered.

Yeah, I'm just barely over 21, myself. Still trying to acquire the taste for beer.

:)

Actually there used to be a fridge there - not sure if it's still available or not tho.

FLG5 (this Saturday, 9/20) is at Eric / Mike's house...the same place as before.

FLG6 (Oct 25) will be at the Lion's Lodge in Roseville. This event will have a $10 charge to cover the cost of the building. You know the LL location GNR... ;) This thread is talking about FLG6....ok?

Silly

Ahhh. Don't feel bad GNR, I thought this thread was about Mike & Eric's house as well. I was starting to wonder if one of them moved out (no internet, no fridge???)...

Hopefully the Lions Lodge still has an ice maker. That thing was great. It held a ton of ice, and could refil itself in 6 hours or so. So, you empty it into buckets (or coolers) in the morning, and you'd have ice again by evening.

More than likely there will be more beer than water, but just out of general curtousy I think people should at least bring their own before they show up and start stealing beer.

I found this by searching around since, other than work, I am freaking bored outta my skull and I really dig lan gaming. I think the link was from the jag lan site...

I will bring my own adult beverages, and even have a few extras for those that are thirsty. = )

I think I won't be as bored once I buy a new streetbike, thinking of the CBR600RR or an FZ1. I have owned bunches of motorcycles in my life, have raced at Sears Point and ridden enduros on dirt bikes also.

I figure I have ridden ovar 150,000 miles on the street, and yes I am still alive, heh heh.

BF1942 is my current fav, including Desert Combat and EoD. I am not a big UT2003 fan.

ET is cool, it'd be nice to play teams enough where we could have coordinated attacks/defense etc. Include Ghost Recon and Medal of Honor in here also. I also have Day of Defeat.

I play Rise of Nations when I am bored, I've always like the whole Ages of Empires and Civ genre.

Sounds good man! I'm sure there will be a game of BF goin on at any given time. SOF2, Raven Shield, and Diablo 2 seem to be pretty popular also - throw in a little Halo and that seems to be what was played @ the last LAN.

Gawd I can't wait for the 25th!!!

My money is on Halo dominating the LAN. The single player is awesome (as you'd expect) and I can't wait to see what maps there are when it finally comes out.

Well, I can say that I'd be pretty pissed if I actually paid money on Halo PC. How can anyone consider it any better than a generic FPS? "Oh boy, here I go into another room of the same 2 enemies, or possibly the other 2 enemies, or maybe even all 4 enemies in the whole game fighting each other." It doesn't look any better than say l33t force 2, but yet it runs like a fucking dog.

And this awesome story halo people are always going on about? Let's see, these founders or whatever, who possess the creativity of gods, make this ring, because no one's ever done that. Then they imbue it with magic or some shit that allows it to wipe out all life somehow. Tragically, when making this huge godamn ring, the founders never planned on anyone crashing their ship into it, or otherwise doing minor damage, since that can totally destroy it. Why didn't they just go into space and have all the marines fire their rockets at one spot? Seems like that'd do the trick. I also like how this presumably spinning ring somehow crashes into itself when a chunk is knocked out, rather than, you know, shooting off tangentially.

Here's what my response was at the end: http://people.ucsc.edu/~tmyhre/pics/w-hat.gif
