This could be a really good thing or a really bad thing...

Good

Simpsons Rule
Bout damn time they made a movie
could be the first cartoon movie I take my son to see in a theater (he will be about 3 or 4 years old)

Bad

Full length theatrical releases of good TV cartoons tend to signal the end of the toon since the creator (Matt Groening inthis case I beleve) makes a bunch of cash. I really dont want to ssee the simpsons go...

yeah but with the marketing and so on for the last ten years if the guy is not worth millions and millions already I would be shocked.

the only prob I can see is some of the charm of the show is the animation level.. If they over do it for a film that might sort of suck.. Plus the jokes work in a rapid fire 30min format.. Not sure one lone running theme for an hour+ is that great.. Eh wait and see

And if they did different animation it wouldn't exactly be the same.

Actually, the creator (Matt Groenig) has talked about making a movie for a couple years now.

He did say that undoubtedly, a movie version would have some non-typical-Simpsons scenarios. He specifically mentioned Bart having a sexual encounter.

So, I am not sure the movie will be in the same flavor as the series at all. He wants to "grow up the characters" and have them age for the movie.

It should be good in ways, others bad like parole said
