In the last 30 days a bunch of new games have hit the shelves. What should we play this time besides the usual suspects?
What I am thinking might be good to try...
* Delta Force: BlackHawk Down
* Raven Shield
* IGI:2
Anyone else?

I would defiantly like to get some Raven Shield in, Mod and I played it for five or six hours the other day and had a blast!
1. Raven Shield
2. Black Hawk Down
3. SOFII
Will think of more to add to the list...

Haven’t had time to really play any of the 3 games Bullfrog mentioned. I played BHD for a few minutes but my impression of it wasn’t that great.
SOF2 was a blast at the last LAN and I hope to get some of that in, and as always, a healthy dose of BF1942 couldn’t hurt. The new .3 version of Desert Combat (BF1942 mod) came out since then and it has so many new vehicles, etc… you could probably almost consider it a new game.

The demo was fun but VERY limited...the full version of the game is actually pretty good. Has a nice variety of weapons and the maps are pretty good. Good for the size lan we are talking about...but it doesn't have a 'long' play life.

Just as long as I don't become your target dummy for you in the helicopter! ;)

There is a game I would not mind playing that I have not played in ages:
Giants: Citizen Kabuto
That game is hella fun at the lan, let me know what you guys think.

Ahhhh don’t remind me. They neutered it and now it’s only a pathetic wannabe apache.
Before, it was a challenge to fly, and hard to master, but once you did you were godlike.
Now it’s easy to fly, but impossible to master, being that there really isn’t anything to master. It’s a damn flying boat. Like for example, before to be hit out of the sky by a tank shell was something that happened few and far between and only usually due to the pilot being an idiot. Now you see this happening all the damn time. *sigh* it’s really sad when they have to dumb down everything for people who aren’t even willing to take a few minutes to learn something. Is it really a bad thing that you just can’t jump into every vehicle you see for the first time and be an instant expert at it?

I agree with you there 100%...I think a lot of the console game mentality is being integrated into PC game development. In some ways this is a good thing, especially with story lines and level development. Plus console games have such extreme limits on them it has caused developer to come up with unique solutions for game play. This is a VERY good thing for PC game development, which has stagnated in the last few years.
But the console mentality also carries a lot of really bad side effects. One of them being the 'instant master' because all you need to know is the 4 movement keys and the fire button. The other side effect that I don't like in current PC game development is the lack of depth in a game. The console games have a great breath to a title but tend to be VERY shallow. I guess my comment there goes back to the same point...a lack of real talent necessary in PC games to use the really cool stuff. Any idiot can press a button :) (to which I qualify)

Sometimes yes, but I remember the good old days, when you needed a keyboard overlay to remember the 100+keys you needed to fly your fighter...sigh, I still miss Falcon 3....
