WTB: Some meaningless crap

Ok... I'm putting together a PC for the little pain (13 year old brother in-law). I'm looking for a cd-rom, and a floppy drive.

Maybe even some sdram for it also.


Nothing special or spectacular, but thought I'd ask here first seeing how I love you all so much...

I think that is a great approach to take. That way he will appreciate and understand how puters work better. It's kinda like a teenager getting a late 80's early 90's Honda as a first car, if they jump straight into a Porsche or Benz they will have no appreciation for the car and not to mention basic driving skills either!!! Make sure you put a copy of quake and doom 2 on his puter.

I've got an old CD-rom in a box... You're welcome to it. Thought I had a floppy in the PC I just gave OnParole, but apparently it got leeched a while ago for a different project.

Wait -- I do think I have a 5.25" 1.2MB floppy lying around! :D

You should make him put the thing together Dan. That way if it doesn't work it's his fault and he also can probably go fix his own future upgrade blunders.

I got you on the SDRAM though. I have a plethora of memory ranging from DDR266 all the way down to PC100.

i think i have a coupla sticks of sdram pc133 type lying in my g/f's closet or sumthin.

i can take a lookie at it and get back to you. i think they were 128 and 64.
