that's a pretty lame l33t filter. I mean, not every 't' needs to be '+' and whatnot.

Please...explain further. How should l33t speak go to make you sound the coolest while impressing your friends at the same time? I can't wait to hear this. I so want to be the best at l33t speak.

hehe, I like how you try and antagonize me like some child while calling me a friendless loser in the same breath.

It's called "sarcasm".

I'm sure you're fully used to it by now.

What, so poncho's got an elaborate troll going? Excuse me if i'm skeptical.

edit: wait, do you mean his last sentence is sarcastic? Because I already know that.

I actually didn't read Poncho's post as sarcastic, but it may have been.

I, however, *do* want to read about the rules of 1337 speak. I've only ever seen 1337 speak on the web in passing; I wasn't aware of "rules." I just figured that pretty much anything goes.

Anyone know where to find a definitive link on 1337 speak?

The point I was making is there aren't "rules" per se. I mean, seeing how l33t is based on using anything except the proper letters to from words, you have a variety of possibilities.

"Anyone" becomes "ne1" or "N31" or "A|\|30nE" or whatever. I'm no expert, the only idea is that you can't just filter letters to specific other characters and have it look authentic. Obviously that doesn't really work unless the filter is more sophisticated than is really worth the effort for a l33t filter.

Well how do you know that for sure if there are no rules on using "leet" speak?
