I really do hope it's a good movie. I could careless about Tom C, I just like good Samuari movies.

This movie just looks like it's going to be really bad to me. Regardless of who the main actor is.

Me too, initially.

However, I saw a few of the full-length trailers, and have only this to say ~ Guys with guns, very large swords, cannons, a lot of explosions, and large-scale battles......How bad could it be?

Hell, I just went to see Master and Commander a few days ago, just for the naval battle scenes...and was NOT disappointed!

Back from the movie.......and it ROCKED!

Kind of a mix of any of the Kirasawa(sp?) samurai films with Dances with Wolves, and Braveheart. If you liked Braveheart, you'll like this film.

Umm...checked moviefone.com for movie listings, and saw that they were doing a sneak-preview; one show only, Sat. night, so I bought the tix online. Glad I did too....smallest theater - fully packed - about 12 seats left when we got there (30 min. early!) and got the only two seats left together in the room.

Just got back from seeing it, enjoyed it very much. I give it 4.5 / 5 stars. My only complaints were that the few CG scenes were quite obviously CG, but it seems that that's because they spent their whole budget on costumes instead. I'm actually glad they did, cause man it was incredible seeing all those samurai ranked up like that.

1:40am and just got home from the 10:30 showing. Great movie overall. Definitely one that gets the thoughts going and some emotions. This is one I will buy when it comes to DVD.

Saw the movie yesterday. And it was great and enjoyed it. When I saw the preview of it thought it sucked, so I was wrong. Samurai costumes were awesome :) Want to visit Japaan but way too expensive.
