What a fucking douchebag. Does he not make enough fucking money? Is he not famous enough already? What in the fuck is this guy thinking? Oh, and then to not be able to finish the job.....well played, you fucking attention whore. Most men use a quick/painless method of suicide - most women try things like pills. Perfect example - miners are REAL men. http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/09/26/sago.suicides/index.html

Anyone want to take bets he check's himself into rehab? Then 3 days later check's out saying he's cured and has a big press conference to let everyone know? I want to read what his ass-hat agent is going to say to spin all this and make TO sympathetic.

Initially there was a report saying he was supposedly allergic to the pain medicine tha is why he was in the hospital.

ditto, i heard that he was having bad side effects (allergy possibly?) to the painkillers that were prescribed to him for his finger injury.
the dallas police said this morning that there was no police statement and that T.O. had been cleared of anything illegal (suicide is illegal in TX). sounds like an accidental O.D. more than anything else.

WTF does he have to be "unhappy" about? I mean seriously dude. Maybe his grampa touched him when he was a kid or something - but for fucks sake, man up and deal with it. IMO this is nothing more than a publicity stunt by TO. He's no better than that fucking Karr guy who claimed to have killed that little girl.

I've got to disagree with you Mikey. While I do think the guy is a tool.... we have NO idea what is going through his head. You seem to think that his money should make everything ok. When the harsh reality is that most people who are obsecenly wealthy are also VERY fucked up in the head. People have different tolerances for different things. What you may brush off from day to day... can slowly make somebody else crack. It's not as cut and dry as money = happiness.... though I wish it was.

But my thing is this: he has a metric assload of cash. While that doesn't necessarily mean "happiness" (and I understood that money != happiness, from the beginning), it's not like he doesn't have the ability to seek professional help. I just can't see how someone can live life, interact with people daily (friends, family, players, coaches, etc...) and not ONE person could pick up on the fact that "Hey, this guy is a couple yards shy of the 1st down".
Regardless, SI.com is reporting that TO claims it was *not* a suicide attempt. I still smell bullshit, but whatever - doesn't affect my life in the least.

Yea... but that's where my comment about being able to deal with things differently comes into play. You might not react the way he did.... but he obviously did. That doesn't make him a doucebag.... him being a football player does that. :D

As much as it pains me to the core, I like poncho's argument here. Often times its harder for those that are wealthy/powerful to get help with their issues. Its often a pride thing, which is why we see so many wackjob rich people.
There's 2 versions of the story, and we'll probably never truthfully know which one was right until TO releases his 3rd book....
which makes me think...
$'s?

Bah. Anyone who commits or attempt to commit suicide is a duchebag. If you fail at committing suicide for anything other than mechanical failure of your firearm or faulty rope, you are a retarded duchebag. I have spoken, that is all. Now drink the Koolaid!

THIS is why I love you, bunny. You break it down to the simplest common denominator.
"IF you do THIS (for WHATEVER reason) then you are THAT."

Maybe this guy has some serious probs(ya think) I'm just sick and tired of hearing about them. He needs some help and I'd wish he get that help so he can shut the hell up. All that talent wasted on member of the 51/50 club!!!!

Supposedly his fiance broke up with him and this was a pathetic attempt to get her back.
