Tivo sucks ASS!!!!.... get the comcast DVR w/HD and you are set. None of this 3rd party crap.

Aren't Comcast DVR's using Tivo software? so what is the difference?

The difference is in the interface. with an EXTERNAL tivo box you have to rely on those little IR things to change the channel on your cable box to record a show and you have to use the tivo box/remote to change your channels or you can screw up a recording. Now... this may not be that big of a deal but the TIVO is terribly slow when it comes to changing the channels, they may have fixed this though. Also... with the Comcast DVR you can record 2 channels, any 2 at the same time, or record one show and watch another. With TIVO you could only do this if you had 2 cable boxes or rely on the antenna for the other which means you can't record ANY 2 shows. Lame... built in DVR just works 100% better IMHO. And unless you've used both you won't know.

I have the series 2 upgraded the hard drive to 160 gig. Don't have an antenna box, so changing the channels slow is not a matter for me. Getting a $799 box for $199 with 1 year free is not bad a deal though.

Details on this deal bro. Did you sign up for a 2 year deal or something?
