Hey Guys,
Anyone that owns a LCD please give any information about them. Are they good for gaming? would you reccommend them? or any other information about them that would help me make my decision more clear. Thanks guys.

The short version is simply this...you have to go look at the LCDs and see which one you like the best. All the different specs don't mean jack if your eye doesn't like it. Kind of like buying a TV set....you can spend top dollar on set but not like how the picture looks in your living room. Same goes for a LCD...
From what I have seen it is best to stick with the top name brands if you plan to game a lot on it. Viewsonic, Sony, Samsung seem to be the top's in the field but you also pay a premium with them.
There are 2 things you need to watch for with a LCD. What is the max resolution it will do and the contrast ratio. The cheaper screens have much lower specs they can support. Which will cause extreme ghosting if you play a lot of FPS games.
That's my 2 cents worth....

I have a Dell 2000FP LCD and I love it. I can’t see any difference in gaming between the LCD and my old CRT. (Modfather has played on it, and I don’t think he could see any difference either, but I will let him comment for himself) However, I have also seen a lot of LCDs that look horrible to me in gaming.
I agree with Bullfrog; make sure you go out and look at each LCD and make sure that it looks good to YOU, that’s all that really matters. I have heard of a lot of people that just do not like the way they look, not only for gaming, but also for everyday desktop use.
Anyway, if you can make it to the next FLG LAN you can give my LCD a tryout, and I am sure you can try a few others out as well (I think I remember seeing about six LCDs or so at the last LAN).

I have the same LCD as LawJp, and all I can say is that it rocks. I've never seen any ghosting, and being able to play the XBox on it directly is sweet. I also have the Dell 1702fp and it work great as well.
I'm coming with my son, and a friend to the next lan, and will have all three of my FP's on hand, so you can do some comparison shopping.

I have a Samsung 191T, which is pretty sweet. You're also welcome to take a look at mine. I'll be there on the 25th. :)

I have had and Envision for quite a while now and love it. Feel free to take it for a test drive at the lodge.

Dell 1800FP, good monitor for the money. Ghosting has not been an issue for me at all.

THERE IS NO GHOSTING AT ALL!!!!!!!!!11111111111 On my 1800FP that is. No game I have played have had ghosting, and I play alot of games. Even though its for 5 minutes :hittard: . If you see ghosting, it will be a little and you will get used to it. Just try playing SOF2 on it for 30 minutes, you will love the lcd. If you dont I will stab you in the eye

I have a Viewsonic Va720. It is 17 inches of flatness. I love it. No problemes with it yet and it produces great colors. I haven't seen any ghosting yet, and the Native resolution is 1280x1024 which is really sweet. I would recommend it to anyone.

Take a look at some of the LCDs at the lan on 1th. Theres a few 1800fps, 19ts and they dont ghost at all. You probably epierianced an older, lowew quality LCD. Stop spreading the hate!
