I know I didn't....

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger this week rejected a request from the Bush administration to send an additional 1,500 National Guard troops to the Mexican border

What a tool...

California has committed to putting 1,000 troops on the border by July 31 and has 250 there already.
I wonder how many we would have sent if a Democrat had been governor? They would probably still be handing out those ghetto maps and organizing school field trips to shake an illegal’s hand.

I think it’s rather miraculous that a republican governor managed to get elected at all, but not really surprising that no one ended up wanting a governor willing to solve our tough problems. I look forward with great anticipation to see how big of a fucking moron we manage to replace Arnold with next election. Maybe Gray Davis is looking for a job.

blah, that nation guard for the border BS is just a nice little smoke screen that will not in anyway way solve the problem or make the border all of a sudden safe.. To big, too spread out and too hard to track all of if..

I have no idea what the answer might be, at least not one we could legaly do but the nation guard there is just sort of a waste..

Then again, like the SNL skit went "There are only two places you can go right now in the National Guard. Iraq and not a Iraq." So I'm sure the guys there not really too pissed off to have that duty over the random road side bomb town.

as for the next election.. I JUST @#$%@#$% HATE that we are already seeing BS ads running.. Geeeeeesh bad enough when it was just the few weeks before an election, now it seem like it's all year long.. lame!!

But tom McClintock isn't a movie star. Arnold is the governator.

NO, he did it because they were not going to California, but to other states. Fuck that, let them pay for there own national guard troops. Dont need my money spent in other states.

no there is still a cost issues.. One is what fannngull is talking about, as in your tax dollars helping support a local national guard for local state issues. The other is the fed's saying they want to more or less hire them away for a fed issue but don't worry, they will pick up the tab for that.

Cost issues mention in the link are from months ago and they were about the program over all.

Of course then again one could say they are "national" guard and just stationed in local areas but not really attached to that area.

I still think this whole thing is a BS waste of just tons and tons of money. We don't need military on the border to stop some guy who wants to come over and pick veggies or whatever.. If they can't stop drug runners now with a hardcore $$$$$$$$$$$ program a few national guard are not going to be able to lock down just hundreds of miles of random boarder zones.

Wall + guns + kill zone might but come on, we are not going to build that..

Which is exactly why they should give immunity to farmers/ranchers/whoever lives near the border to help protect it. Make them have to get an "Alien Hunting License".

I'd be willing to bet that in less than 1 year, the amount of border hoppers would decrease exponentially.

Try working in the goverment sector for a bit, before posting.
Fully funded by the federal goverment only covers about 60-70% of actuall costs..

farmers/ranchers/.

they get it the WORST... due mostly to people cutting their fences and then some cow wonder off or whatever.. Everyone is worth $$$, never mind having to fix the fence.. I rem some news report of a guy who had to drive and pretty much repair his fence every other day.

I think we all know the only way it ever going to stop is if they just don't want to bother to come here, sort of like how next to no one is sneaking INTO mexico. Then again I think mexico is always going to be the anus of america..
